Why Us?

My signature book, "BROKEN WINGS" , focuses on providing traumatic brain injury survivors and caregivers a peace of mind by sharing insight to dealing with the devastation it causes.  I share with you real life occurrences my son and I encounter and how we maneuver through each day literally living moment by moment. 


I show you how to walk through helplessness while navigating through periods of breakdown as well as understanding the power of FAITH, and the importance of believing when the opposite seems true.


Strategies are discussed to assist the reader while on the road of recovery to help both the survivor and caregiver gain a better understanding of how to cope with the damaging mental, emotional, and physical effects a brain injury can have on a family. 


After reading "BROKEN WINGS", readers will gain optimism and courage to keep moving forward while feeling less overwhelmed, energized, and strengthened.  But, most importantly seeing the importance of persevering and advocating for your love ones.

Who We Are

Hello, my name is Twylia Reid and I am the caregiver of my son, Mylon, who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury when he was 11 years old from a motor vehicle accident in Fayetteville, NC .  Sharing with you this very personal journey that I travel as one who is a caregiver to someone with a severe traumatic brain injury has not been an easy assignment.  Many days and nights of shedding tears and crying out to God have given me a strength that I never knew I possessed. 


Having to deal with the frustrations of not being able to find sufficient resources or having to hear no that our medical insurance does not cover some of the cognitive rehabilitation that he so desperately needs are only some of the motivating factors which contribute to my why’s of this writing journey to include "BROKEN WINGS". 


Hoping to reach caregivers and survivors and being able to give them the will to keep striving and advocating for their love one is all I ever want to accomplish.  With that being said, with the highest levels of customer satisfaction I have vowed to do everything I can to meet your expectations and provide you with the knowledge to help catapult you into your destiny while on your road to victory.  I pray that you will be blessed by our story as you travel with us on our journey from tragedy to triumph through my son's traumatic brain injury.
